Public officials learn Eco-energyTuscany is first region in Italy to host educational courses - Starting this month, Tuscany became the first region in Italy to offer educational courses for public officials to educate them on the technical and administrative aspects of energy production.

Emphasis will be placed on solar power sources and on the energy efficiency of buildings. The courses are organized by Assosolare, the Associazione nazionale dell'industria fotovoltaica, Ecquologia and WWF Ricerche e Progetti.

Assosolare president Gianni Chianetta explained: "The solar energy market could generate between 500 and 600 million euro this year in Italy. The training should reinforce the technical ability of the public sector and make the market more fluid by surpassing local level paradoxes, where entities and administrations put up bureaucratic roadblocks in system installation, which increase costs and time. We run the risk of losing credibility in a sector that could create employment for tens of thousands of people from now until 2020".
