Reggina sack Ulivieri

Reggina on Monday sacked veteran coach Renzo Ulivieri after Sunday's goalless draw with Palermo left the Calabrians stuck in second-last position, three points away from safety.

Ulivieri, 67, a former coach of Sampdoria, Napoli, Parma and Torino, joined Reggina from Bologna at the start of the season.

He has been replaced by Nevio Orlandi, coach of Reggina's reserve team until last year.

Last week's stunning 2-1 win over Juventus was apparently not enough to save Ulivieri.

Reggina have managed just four wins from 26 games so far this campaign and are still waiting for their first victory away from home.

The strugglers travel to the San Siro on Saturday to take on Serie A leaders Inter.

The relegation-plagued Amaranti finished 14th in the Italian top flight last season.

Ulivieri is the fourth Serie A coach axed this season after Fernando Orsi at Livorno, Luigi Cagni at Empoli and Stefano Colantuono at Palermo.
