Serie A's second-from-bottom Reggina on Tuesday sacked coach Nevio Orlandi, replacing him with Giuseppe Pillon in a bid to avoid relegation.
Pillon, 52, has coached a number of teams, including Genoa, Ascoli, Padova and Chievo.
At the helm of Chievo in the 2005 season he managed to bring the team to seventh place and qualify for the UEFA cup.
Orlandi, the fifth Serie A coach to sacked this season, had helped Reggina avoid relegation when he was brought in last March.
