Flash News - Food manufacturer utilizes 120 solar panels - Ricette Mediterranee - a Carrara artisan food manufacturer that makes 'ready to eat' sauces has entrusted almost all of its energy needs to renewable sources.
It has recently installed 120 solar panels on the roof of the complex which furnish 26,000 kilowatts of energy per year roughly 75% of the company's total need.
The company was founded in 1992 and has sustained an annual sales growth of 5%-10%.
It manufactures goods for large scale distribution for export to Germany, France and Greece.
Talks are in progress to expand into Holland and Spain.
The company began developing its ecologically sound practices by taking advantage of an experimental programme through the Cassa di Risparmio di Carrara which assists in minimizing energy dependence and decreasing electricity costs.
