Roma set for Man u fight

AS Roma is set to give its all to turn around a 2-0 deficit at Old Trafford Tuesday night, coach Luciano Spalletti says.

''I've had a chat with the lads and they're all up for it,'' Spalletti said.

''There'll be no more of that heads-down stuff we saw at the Olimpico when we went two down,'' he said.

Asked about Roma's recent defensive fragility - highlighted Saturday when Genoa got back on level terms before a late penalty winner from Daniele De Rossi - Spalletti said:

''We'll have (Portuguese defender) Juan back and he's very important for us. No way are we going to go to sleep like we did for Manchester's second.

''They scored two goals but only really had one shot at goal,'' he said.

Spalletti will be relying heavily on Mirko Vucinic in the Champions League quarter-final second leg.

Last month in Madrid the striker scored the decider against Real to set up the long-sought rematch against United, which thrashed Spalletti's men 7-1 at the same stage in Manchester last year.

''I want to convince Roma to keep me on with a strong finish to the season,'' said Vucinic, who raised his domestic goal tally to five against Genoa.

The Montenegrin, who is co-owned by Lecce, said he wanted to be ''a 100% Roma player''.

At Old Trafford Vucinic will be doing his best to fill in for injured skipper Francesco Totti who was badly missed in the first leg.

Totti's absence was also felt in the 3-2 win over Genoa, where Roma again struggled to generate the flowing football that has been their trademark for so long.

Roma's win briefly put them within one point of Inter but the leaders looked to have shrugged off a recent poor patch with a 2-0 win at Atalanta that restored their four-point lead with six games to go.

Third-placed Juventus slipped to ten points behind, just two above Fiorentina, with a last-gasp defeat at an Amauri-inspired Palermo.

Milan's 3-1 win over Cagliari kept them within four points of Fiorentina.
