Valentino Rossi still has time to take Giacomo Agostini's remaining two records, the ex-champion said Monday.

Speaking a day after Rossi equalled Agostini's mark of 68 premier class wins, Agostini said his heir could also reach his total of wins and titles in all classes.

Rossi's victory in the San Marino GP put him on track to win his eighth title compared to Agostini's 15.

He has 94 wins in all classes compared to Agostini's 122.

''He might do it,'' the 60s and 70s great told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

''I retired when I was 35, and Valentino is 29. If he does do it, we'll have a big party together''.

Agostini, whose nickname is Ago (Italian for ''needle''), said he had felt a little ''sorry'' to see his premier class mark.

''Everyone's a bit egotistical and you obviously feel it when someone takes a record away. But I think it's a big thing for him too to equal Agostini. I've still got my 122 wins and 15 titles and I'm attached to them too''.

Rossi, who was hailed as ''historic'' by soccer legend Diego Maradona, has a 75-point lead over reigning champion Casey Stoner with five races to go.
