Italy coach Pierre Berbizier on Tuesday issued the list of 30 players called to take part in the 2007 World Cup squad.
Making his debut with Italy will be the 24-year-old Fiji flanker Ratu Manoa Vosawai, who qualified to be part of the national side after three years residency in Italy.
The Overmach Parma player, in fact, received his residency permit on August 8, 2008.
The Italy squad called up on Tuesday is split evenly between 'foreign' players and Italian nationals.
Among the Italians who have not been called up is Cammi Calvisano flyhalf Andrea Scanavacca, who was one of the heroes of the two-win 2007 Six Nations campaign, the Azzurri's most successful ever.
The 33-year-old scored 22 points in the historic 17-37 victory over Scotland in Edinburgh in February, Italy's first away win in the tournament.
Scanavacca is also the all-time top-scorer in the Italian domestic championship.
Veteran scrum half Alessandro Troncon will be making his fourth World Cup appearance and has hinted he may retire after France 2007.
The Clermont-Auvergne player is Italy's all-time most capped player with 95 appearances.
Italy is in Group Three of France 2007 together with New Zealand, Romania, Scotland and Portugal.
It will play its opening match Septemebr 8 against the All Blacks and then play Romania on the 12th, Portugal on the 19th and Scotland on the 29th.
