Police in Naples arrested a 60-year old man that was trying to make a marijuana-based liqueur.
Manilo Chianchiano from Naples which is well known for its lemon liqueur limoncello, had a small cannabis cultivation in his back yard - about 10 plants - with the explicit idea of developing and marketing the marijuancello.
He was using a process which is very common throughout Italy for creating liqueurs, whereby the main ingredient - in this case marijuana - is steeped in pure alcohol mixed with sugar for the appropriate period of time to give the alcohol the desired taste.
Unfortunately the police did not report on the quality of the end results - the leaves where still macerating in alcohol when the police came around after being tipped off about the marijuana plants.
