Spending by Italian companies on advertising in the Internet is expected to increase by an average 30% in 2008, according to Roberto Binaghi, manager of Assap, the research body of Italian association of advertising and public relations agencies AssoComunicazione.
Internet advertising in Italy is seen to total 665 mln euros ($975.4 mln) in 2007, marking a rise of 41.5%, compared to 2006.
According to AssoComunicazione, Internet advertising spending will go up 15% in the telecommunications sector, followed by the financial services advertising with 14%, business services advertising with 11% and car advertising with 10% in 2007.
Internet advertising spending jumped by 42.9% to 165 mln euros ($242 mln) in the first eight months of 2007.
