At 70.5 million euros, Italy's popular SuperEnalotto now has the highest jackpot in the world for a lotto game, organizers Sisal said on Wednesday.

The game's jackpot is now nearing its all-time record of 71.8 million euros, which was won in Milan in May of 2005.

Without the changes made since then to calculate the jackpot, the current pot would be a record 84.7 million euros.

In order to win SuperEnalotto betters must choose the correct six numbers drawn from one to 90. Draws are held twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday.

There is also a 5+1 win, in which a seventh bonus number is drawn and can be added to any five of the original six-number combination.

SuperEnalotto also pays for five, four and three correct guesses.

Each six-number combination costs 50 euro cents with a minimum two combination or one euro bet.

There are three draws a week: on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
