Actors disguised as cats telling old tales and enchanting visitors with dances and songs, which the citizens of Siena, in central Italy, have been passing down since the 19th century, will represent the clou in the event scheduled for Sunday at the Donatella Cinelli Colombini wine cellar on the occasion of the Day of Wine Tourism.
The performance will be organised at the Fattoria del Colle di Trequanda estate by the Compagnia Teatrale del Bucchero theatre company.
The event envisages also a trekking tour around the Brunello vineyards in the Val d'Orcia valley, which became a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004.
The tour, which is about one kilometre long, is interrupted by small terraces, where phrases that won the Casato Prime Donne prize are carved on stones. These are phrases calling for meditation on the value of an enchanting environment created by men during centuries of agricultural work.
