Tax revenue up 10.1% JAN-NOV 2007Italy's tax revenue from January to November 2007 was up 10.1% on the same period of the previous year, reaching 451.2 bln euros ($659.745 bln) according to preliminary data presented by the Italian Economy and Finance Ministry.

Revenue from personal income tax (IRPEF) showed a rise of 9.5% to 94.1 bln euros ($137.593 bln), while corporate tax (IRES) generated a revenue of 50.2 bln euros ($73.402 bln), a rise from 39.2 bln euros ($57.318 bln). VAT revenue grew by 4.9%.

Revenue from taxes on gambling games went up 23.9% to 2.7 bln euros ($3.948 bln). Takings from excise duties on tobacco products increased to 9.6 bln euros ($14.037 bln) from 8.4 bln euros ($12.282 bln).

Regional tax revenue fell 2.0% to 1.8 bln euros ($2.632 bln), while the municipal tax revenue climbed to 1.2 bln euros ($1.755 bln) from 845 mln euros ($1.236 bln).

The ICI municipal property tax soared 295%.
