Totti out of Udinese game

Roma skipper Francesco Totti has the flu and will miss Saturday's home match against 12th-placed Udinese, coach Luciano Spalletti said Friday.

Julio Baptista and Daniele De Rossi are over the bug and should be available for the sixth-placed Romans along with Mirko Vucinic who has recovered from a back strain, Spalletti said.

But French forward Jeremy Menez is doubtful, also with the flu.

Despite losing Totti for the second match running, Spalletti will be hoping for more of the sparkling football that Roma produced in last week's 3-3 draw at Inter Milan.

Roma, who host Arsenal in the Champions League midweek hoping to overcome a 1-0 deficit from the first leg at the Emirates, were buoyed by their performance at the San Siro but deeply disappointed by the result.

Both Spalletti and midfielder Daniele De Rossi decried a penalty earned by Inter forward Mario Balotelli.

De Rossi faces disciplinary action because of his statement against the referee while Balotelli is also in trouble over a gesture to an opponent.

Balotelli has recovered after hitting a goal post in Wednesday's 3-0 Italian Cup semifinal first leg defeat at Sampdoria and is vying with Brazil striker Adriano for a place alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic at fifth-placed Genoa Saturday.

The big Swede was among the Serie A leaders' usual starters who missed the Sampdoria game and have been recalled against Genoa, who have not lost at home this season.

Mourinho, who is also facing disciplinary charges after claiming second-placed Juventus benefitted from dubious decisions, will be without defenders Cristian Chivu and Walter Samuel.

Juventus are without suspended centre back Nicola Legrottaglie for Saturday's derby with Torino.

Third-placed AC Milan still don't know whether David Beckham will be playing his last game for them against ninth-placed Atalanta on Sunday.

Talks to extend the LA Galaxy midfielder's two-month loan until the end of the season look set to go down to a Sunday night deadline.

Kaka is still out with a foot problem while Ronaldinho is doubtful.
