In a demonstration that the law is the same for everyone, a traffic policewoman here in this southwest Sicilian city did not hesitate to fine a motorcycle cop for not wearing his helmet.
The incident took place in the city center and attracted the attention of many onlookers.
The motorcycle cop was not in uniform and despite his protests that he was working undercover, he found himself holding a fine for violating Italy's seven-year-old law making it obligatory for all motorcycle, scooter and moped riders to wear a helmet.
