Tuscan foreign sales up 6.9%

In 2007, foreign sales by Tuscan companies grew 6.9%, confirming the positive result seen the prior year.

However, the area's growth proved to be lower than the national average. The differential is likely due to a deterioration on the international macroeconomic scene and to the United States' economic crisis, which both gave way to growing concern and uncertainty about the global economy.

America's difficulties hit Tuscan production hard and may appear more concentrated than the rest of the country.
