Tuscany ready to restore Yemen's capital cityTuscan expertise at the service of historic heritage - Tuscany is ready to restore the historic patrimony of Sanaa, Yemen s capital city and a UNESCO protected site.

Tuscan expertise in restoration techniques will come to the aid of this Middle Eastern country.

The possibility came up during and encounter between regional council president, Riccardo Nencini and a Yemen delegation led by Shaia Mosen Zingani, ambassador of the Republic of Yemen in Rome. Zingani was accompanied by other Arab authorities including Aden port president, Mubarak Bin Aefan.

Relations between Tuscany and Yemen were fostered by a health care agreement signed in 2002 and will be reinforced during the "recovery of one of the greatest artistic cities in the world", according to Nencini.

The agreement was made thanks to the participation of various art restoration institutes in Florence and the tradition of excellence in restoration throughout Tuscany. Yemen authorities are pleased with the proposal and look forward to increased collaboration.
