UEFA on Wednesday slapped bans on four Inter Milan and two Valencia players for brawling after a Champions League match last week.
Valencia substitute defender David Navarro got by far the longest ban, seven months, for racing onto the pitch to break an Inter defender's nose and unleash pandemonium.
The Inter defender, Nicolas Burdisso of Argentina, who had been grappling with Valencia defender Carlos Marchena, received a six-match ban - as did his team-mate Maicon of Brazil.
Inter's Colombian defender Ivan Cordoba got three matches and Argentine striker Julio Cruz two matches for both kicking out at Navarro as he streaked off the pitch.
Marchena got a four-match ban.
All the bans except Navarro's will be served out in European cup competition. UEFA has asked FIFA to make Navarro's punishment applicable to the Liga too.
The two clubs were each fined 250,000 Swiss francs.
The brawl did not affect the outcome of the tie, which Valencia won to set up a quarter-final clash against Chelsea.
