After days and days of suffering suffocating heat, Italy is now getting hit by a rash of violent storms which while breaking the heat wave also risk causing major damage.
Heavy rains were widespread Thursday in the northeast causing extensive flooding.
In Milan and Lombardy in general rain brought temperatures down significantly and several locations reported hail storms.
Storms are now expected to move further down the peninsula.
