Wages in big companies up 1.3% in OCT

Wages in big cos up 1.3% in OCTGross hourly wages in big companies in Italy increased by 1.3% month-on-month in October 2007, according to seasonally adjusted data from the Italian National Statistics Institute ISTAT.

The gross wages per working hour in large enterprises rose by 2.3% in October 2007 compared to October 2006.

The average gross hourly wage in Italy's big companies marked a growth of 1.1% year-on-year for January to October 2007.

On an annual basis, the average salary per worker climbed by 3.1% in October 2007 and by an average 3.1% in the first ten months of 2007.

The seasonally adjusted average labour costs per working hour in big companies in October 2007 went up by 1.3% compared to September 2007 and by 2.0% compared to a year ago.

The labour cost rose by 1.1% year-on-year in the first ten months of 2007.

The labour cost per worker increased by 2.9% in October and by 1.8% for January to October 2007 compared to the corresponding periods of 2006.
