Flash News - £11,000 for a vineyard themed trip to famed Tuscan villa - An exclusive Tuscan wine weekend at an Antinori family estate was recently sold at a London auction for £11,000 (approximately 15,780 euro).
Winenews reported that the sale was organized by Decanter magazine and by the Royal Opera House.
The winner was Marco Compagnoni, an Italian national living in London and president of the prestigious theatre.
The lot included an exclusive trip for two to Chianti with a private visit to the Tignanello Estate near Florence with lunch and a visit to the cellars and the vineyards.
A dinner at the Osteria di Badia in Passignano will be followed by a night in the characteristic farmhouse bed and breakfast, Fonte de' Medici, outside Florence.
The following day includes lunch and a winery visit to the celebrated Guado al Tasso Estate in Bolgheri.
Dinner and a hotel stay are set for the Hotel Tombolo in Castagneto Carducci. The lot also included a double magnum of the 1997 Tignanello.
