'We'll sort it' says Del Piero

''We'll sort things out,'' said Alessandro Del Piero Monday after Juventus's home loss to Palermo left them four points adrift of league co-leaders Lazio, Udinese and Inter and some people already calling for the head of coach Claudio Ranieri.

The Juve captain, one of the few bright spots in the 2-1 defeat, denied reports of dressing-room rifts.

''What counts is what people tell me to my face. And at the moment I'm not hearing anyone saying anything out of turn''.

Juve Chairman Cobolli Gigli confirmed that former Chelsea boss Ranieri had the ''full backing'' of the board.

''Ranieri is in no danger and we're just going to take things on from here,'' he said.

''Any other decision would be hysterical and destabilising,'' he said.

Another coach under pressure Monday was Roma's Luciano Spalletti after a 1-0 loss at Siena left the Giallorossi four spots above the relegation zone on seven points.

Roma great Bruno Conti, now on the managerial staff, also denied any split in the camp.

''We're all behind Spalletti,'' he said.

Serie A takes a breather until October 18-19 because of Italy's World Cup 2010 qualifiers in Bulgaria on October 11 and at home to Montenegro on October 15.

Coach Marcello Lippi unveiled his squad Sunday, calling up 21-year-old Villareal striker Giuseppe Rossi and confirming Luca Toni up front.

There were first-time call-ups for Udinese striker Simone Pepe and Napoli duo Fabiano Santacroce (defence) and Christian Maggi (midfield).
