Inspired by Tom Cruise's Italian wedding bash last year, Hollywood star Will Smith is to celebrate his 10th wedding anniversary at the same lakeside castle outside Rome.
Smith, who recently had a worldwide hit with The Pursuit of Happyness by Italian director Gabriele Muccino, was stunned by the grandeur of the Castello Odescalchi at Bracciano, where Cruise married Katie Holmes.
Oil-fed torches glowed from the battlements of the 15th Century castle during the ceremony last November, which was attended by a host of stars and ended with fireworks shooting into the night sky.
As soon as he returned to America, Smith told friends it had been the "most enchanting, splendid experience possible". He also admitted being sorry that when he had married second wife Jada Pinkett in 1997 he could not afford to throw such a party.
Smith, 39, has reportedly been persuaded by Cruise, a close friend, to make up for the missed opportunity by going to Bracciano for his 10th wedding anniversary, which falls on May 26.
Local cake-makers and craftsmen are already at work preparing for the event and many of the same drivers, body-guards and valets that worked for Cruise have been engaged again for the Smith-Pinkett do.
The press were keep well away from Italy's top celebrity wedding of last year and so details of what went on there are scarce, coming only from the scattered accounts of those who were present.
The guest list included fellow Hollywood stars Jennifer Lopez, Jim Carrey, and Richard Gere.
Holmes wore a Giorgio Armani dress, with an ivory train adorned with lace and crystal embroidery, while Cruise wore an Armani tuxedo, reports said.
After the ceremony, the couple were serenaded by Italian singer Andrea Bocelli.
Smith was apparently not seen for much of the day because he was in the kitchens with the chefs.
