An 83-year-old Calabrian woman got her school-leaving certificate after going back to school for a year.
Annina Zoleo ''answered questions brightly and showed an excellent predisposition for conversing,'' during her final oral exam Wednesday, the Gazzetta del Sud daily reported.
Ms Zoleo's teachers praised her efforts, saying she had ''enriched'' lessons with her ''wisdom and humanity''.
The middle-school diploma, which students usually obtain at the age of 14 or 15, is the basic qualification for many jobs.
