On our last visit to Italy we discovered a bill asking for just less than E400 in repect of 'contribuio opere irrigue'. We think think this relates to the irrigation supply for agricultural land for which we have two separate outlets on the 2HA of land we purchased with our house.
We are not and will not be using the land for agricultural purposes and, I thought, the land had been re-registered as non-agricultural. So, does anyone know if this contribution is mandatory if you have the supply but choose not to use it. I can see the flaw in that argument, but wondered if the supply could be disconnected in the same way as the domestic supply.
Our property is in Ascoli Piceno Province and the bill is issued by the Consorzio di Bonifica Aso Tenna Tronto - Comprensorio Aso.
