Has anyone ever seen this extraordinary competition? Has anyone ever competed in one? We chanced upon it by accident at Christmas in Pienza and were glued to the spot for an hour watching. Not quite as exciting as the Gentlemen's final at Wimbledon but if people you know are competing, it can get quite tense. Objective - at least from what we understood - is to throw a panforte as far as you can along a 3m, maybe 4m, table without it falling off. Absolutely fascinating.
