You might like to visit an exhibition shortly (starts Oct 5th) on at the V&A (South Ken, London) called "At home in the Renaissance".
It is billed as showcasing Italian interior design in the 16th Century - and (if I was in London) I would certainly make a beeline for it!
If you think you don't take a lot of interest in Renaissance architecture (always concerned with the "outsides" of posh buildings), then give this exhibition a go, because so often when you can see what a renaissance sofa, or wardrobe, or curtains looked like - you can get a much more personal feel for "the period", and find that the Florentine palazzo which previously you noticed because it was "above the nice bar" takes on a new life :)
