Is the Caffe Frari - just opposite the main entrance to the Frari church across the canal. Its about 200 years old, has a 1st floor balcony all around which looks down into the ground floor area, serves the best hot chocolate in the world and bargain glasses of prosecco.
They also play more modern music if you're getting a bit over-Vivaldi'd. A great place for a late breakfast (wicked toasties) or a quick drink before dinner. After a visit to the Frari its a wonderful watering stop.
One round at Quaddris or Florians will cost you more than a weeks aperitifs here, full of real Venetians but not at all unwelcoming to tourists..
