7741 unbelievable

i caught this story last night on the news and maybe it should be in cost of living or working or legal byut as i still find it hard to credit its ended up in general

it appears the police that deal with workers in the black were flying over a vineyard and photographed/filmed the workers...

police then vist said vine yard and cjheck thes people out...some old guy of 70 or so had been filemd picking grapes and admitted to getting lunch for helping out...

owner of vineyard fined e2000 for using non registered labour.. it wasnt very clear if it was the meal but it seems that you can use family to help you with work as long as they do not fall outside the 3rd generation of realtionships and they will be considered as working for free

anyone else... even if they do not admit to having had a meal or a glass of wine is classed as being an employee and has to be registered as such

so if anyone else caught this story and wants to flesh out the details i would be interested ... and anyone considering asking friends to help with anything should be careful...

i presume these laws were in place before prodi came along...his promise to attack all those not paying tax or avoiding it seems to be reaching extreme measures... and targetting workers who are not paying their income tax and national insurance is an obvious priority for him... but this sems a step beyond reason
