I've just signed up to the site because Chiara and I are heading out to Friuli Venezia Giulia in March, and we are making preparations to let our house and move.
Having read some of the posts relating to the difficulties of finding/renovating a house, insuring a car, and getting permission to stay, I am fairly relieved that being married to an Italian with residence in Gorizia, that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
But it does strike me that there seem to be very few expats in FVG, no properties advertised there on this web site, and very little mention of the region in all the various publications about Italy. Yet it has mountains and sea, beautiful countryside, and some of the best white wines in Italy!
