Hello out there. I'm from Edinburgh, where I am at the moment, but we have a house near Lake Trasimeno in Umbria, where we've just spent a fantastic 6 weeks of the summer. We spend most of our time in Scotland trying to plan the next trip back out! As we have a business here and schoolage kids still, it's not possible to be there outside term-time, but one day soon...
We've had the house nearly 6 years now and have restored it mainly by ourselves - my Italian vocabulary is great about building materials and plumbing! We have made lots of nice friends out there, British, Irish and Italian. Every time I go there, I'm worried that it will have lost its magic, and every time I love it more. When we arrived this summer, my 13year old daughter said as we opened the door "Oh it's great to be home"
