this thing is coming... all the business papers before the present financial crisis were full of it... the trade papers we get too...

actually i have little idea what it is going to mean in specific terms, most probably higher local taxs ...ie your provincial/regional taxs will most probably increase in areas where central government has moved tax income from wealthy regions to those that are poorer... in contrast regions that do produce wealth and have efficient administration should actually do well for themselves as a lot of there tax has gone outside their region paying for areas that do not have large tax incomes

calling back figures from memory... 40 % of comunes provide 7 % of the wealth of the country... whilst two thirds of the country seems to be producing the rest... so to my mind its not just a simple north south divide in that respect... from memory again the article that quoted these figures was suggesting that many of these smaller non producing comunes will be either forced by lack of funds or in amalgamations of common sense to combine or close down...

again its maybe not worth looking at this solely in respect of north south but remote maountain areas all along the appenines

Rome will be supported naturally as the capital by all regions...

rather than do my usual waffling on bit here's a link to a site which is dedicated to the changes

there's a link in the article to take you to the PDF document

i have my own views on the aims and what they hope will be the gains... and i have some sympathy with that ... its also not only a northern aspiration, Sicily is quite heavily involved in progressing its federal independence ...
