9076 Pressed logs - tronchetti

All this talk of Elettroidea reminded me of a good place to get a quick supply of those logs made from compressed sawdust. More expensive than real logs but quick and easy to light, burn very hot and are clean to store. More for those of us who are only part-time than actual residents who no doubt have their own secret suppliers of top-grade seasoned wood.

If you go past Elettroidea and keep going up into the industrial estate, you will find a company making windows (which they export all over Europe apparently). The name escapes me at the moment, I'm sure Sebastiano will know them. Anyway, they make these logs out of their own sawdust. One cardboard box (which would probably last a long weekend if you're frugal) is E3. I usually use them to start the fire, then put a couple of real logs (if I've got any) on as well to get more of a flame. And so long as you keep them somewhere dry they're easy to store ready for your next trip out.
