5228 living in Italy, paid in UK - tax/PdiS/etc questions

I'm moving to Milan from the UK soon but continuing work for my company in the UK. Our tax adviser has said that under EU regs there will be no problem with this, that I can continue to be paid and taxed in the UK. Has anyone had experience that could confirm this?

Am I also correct in thinking that I should be able to apply for PdiS and codice fiscale without too many problems? I'm trying to figure out if I can get the latter prior to leaving, if anyone knows which part of the london consulate i need to speak to I'd be very grateful.

Last question is will I have issues with things like residency (would want to get residency so I can buy a house at the lower tax rate), doctors etc...
