7615 User on premoderation

User Giovanni has been placed on premoderation for violating the following rules:

We commit to replying to any suggestions, disagreements and constructive criticism. All such issues should be communicated to the Administrator exclusively via private messaging, e-mails, or even over the phone.

Giovanni strongly disagrees with both of above rules but takes particular issue with the second one considering it a violation of his freedoms. He believes that public discussions should be held about forum regulations.

The administration of the forum believes that private discussions lead to better results as the discussions do not get confused, heated and emotive. Any public discussion is regulated by the forum rules and a heated and emotive discussion can often lead to a violation of those rules (as people personally attack others).

This has happened in the past and it has been very detrimental to forum life as the focus on Italy is lost ending in drawn out confrontations. We would love to actually talk to people about issues (and only today spend an hour on the phone with a forum member discussing the new regulations) and were changes can be made to accommodate requests they will be made.

Once that is done, however, the matter is to be considered closed as forum life needs to move forward.
