Mark, The Man in Seat Sixty One, is going to be gone for awhile according to his website, so I thought someone could offer some help. Trying to understand this 7PM rule when riding the trains. I understand that if you board a direct, overnight train after 7:00pm, the day of travel is actualy recorded in the book as the next day (day you arrived at your destination). Does that apply even if you had traveled earlier that day? For instance, first travel day I board a train at 8:00am and arrive at 3:00pm, same day. Later that same day, I board another train AFTER 7:00pm with arrival after midnight at the new destination. That second train ride is recorded on the next day, even though technically, I've rode 2 different trains in the same day? Or am I mistaken?
