British Airways is starting flights from London Gatwick to Genoa next spring.
BA say demand for flights to Genoa has soared due to the Italian city’s growth as a starting point for Mediterranean cruises in recent years.
The new route takes off on April 4, with BA operating daily flights from Gatwick to Genoa during the summer, and four flights a week during the winter months.
BA’s Italy commercial manager, Mark Moscardini, said: "Italy is a key market for British Airways across both our leisure and commercial business, and we consider every opportunity to grow further in this area.
"BA is committed to supporting the growth of tourism in the region and we are excited to offer this route to passengers."
