The International Ferrara Buskers' Festival will celebrate Argentina this year when it marks its 20th anniversary with a week of street music and entertainment.

Over 800,000 people are expected to attend the August 20 to 26 festivities. There will be a preview August 18 and 19 at Ferrara's nearby beach locations, which will also host a post-festival bash on the 27th.

Among the twenty official guests there will be four Argentinian groups who will join the 242 groups and single performers from 33 countries.

During the festival week there will be an average of 100 free performances a day which aside from all different types of music will also include dance exhibitions, with the Argentinian tango sure to draw the crowds, circus acts, cabaret, street poetry recitals and even graffiti art happenings.

The official guests include the British musical comedy group Cosmic Sausages, the Flamenco group ZambraMora, the tango of Martin Rago and Vidurria, Brazilian musician Mateus Emilio Batista and the Latin blues rock of Argentina's Gabriel Delta and the Hurricanes.

One of the week's key events will be the 'Big Hat' charity drive to help street children, with this year's donations earmarked for non-profit Argentinian groups Mateando and the Indigenous Argentinian Youth association.
