The Glossatori - The Jurists suite: two richly furnished adjoining rooms, a sitting room and a bedroom the walls of which are decorated with Medieval ornamental motifs. The name of the room is a tribute to the glorious past of the building :the first seat of the Comune di Bologna (The Town Hall) and later the home of prestigious University Roman Law Professors who were used to teach their students here.

The hotel has rooms of great elegance and taste: although it has been recently renovated, it retains all the characteristics of the original building with breathtaking wooden beams, elegant rooms and suites, some of them with frescos, all elegantly furnished and equipped with every comfort, and unique and unforgettable views over the medieval town.
You are in a unique building that boasts many awards, two of which are closely linked with the medieval history of Bologna: the first is the Superintendence of cultural heritage which recognized our palazzo as a protected historic building and headquarters of the ancient City Hall in the XI century; the second is that the City Council of Bologna attested that our building was the home of the prestigious medieval guild of the Brentatori, back in 1250.
Our hotel also boasts awards in modern times: for the style of hospitality, and the high quality of service, Hotel Commercianti was awarded the prize “Stanze Italiane 2004” by Touring Club Italiano, a prize reserved to just four hotels in Italy providing outstanding services and comfort for “unique” and unforgettable experiences. It was also honored in 2015, by the Chamber of Commerce of Bologna, as Historical Enterprise, operating for more than 100 years in the same location…a certificate reserved to only 53 companies across Bologna.
