It's Black Friday and while everyone is going crazy searching for the hottest sale, why not indulge in a little 'sweet' affair with a traditional Italian cake? 

On Christmas day in Italy, most families either have a Panettone or Pandoro cake grace their table; which one they choose is entirely personal, but both have interesting histories. Panettone, which is otfen compared to fruit cake, originates from Milan via a legend as a sort of fluke in a 15th century court. The lovely Pandoro originates from Verona, the name meaning 'golden cake', and is made of flour, butter and eggs with a special star shape.
