Photo: Actress Camilla Belle will be one of Ferretti's real women models next month
No stranger to the glamorous Italian fashion scene, Alberta Ferretti is breaking with the status quo and sending “real women” down the runway next month.
Ferretti wanted the women who actually inspire her designs to wear the clothes on the runway in her highly anticipated Pitti Uomo show.
Her ‘real women’ muses include Camilla Belle, an actress and former model, as well as Italian socialites. In addition to these winners of the genetic lottery, Ferretti actually will be using real women with real jobs on the runway. The other ladies who will strut their stuff on the catwalk January 11th include a psychologist, a lawyer, and even a blogger.
The working women may not be the typical models expected in Milan, but Ferretti insists that this year her show is about the women who wear her designs, not simply the clothes themselves.
