Tonight, Mr Berlusconi's Mediaset Canale 5 channel will air, for the first time in Italy, the movie “Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy”.
This comes a week after the cover of Amanda's book was released, along with the title, "Waiting to Be Heard" and lawyers acting on her behalf have cautioned Mediaset not to screen the film.
It was first screened in the USA in early 2011 when the trial was still underway and, at the time, it was reported that Amanda was so shocked by watching some clips that she felt physically sick and started hyperventilating.
The film poses the question of whether Knox (Hayden Panettiere), the American student accused of murdering her college roommate Meredith Kercher (Amanda Fernando Stevens) in 2007 with Raffaele Sollecito (Paolo Romio), who was at the time her boyfriend, and acquaintance Rudy Guede (Djibril Kébé), actually committed the crime or was herself a victim. According to Knox the film is inaccurate and the people involved in this tragedy were completely misrepresented. In October 2011, the guilty verdict was overturned by a court of appeal and both Knox and Sollecito were immediately released.
Earlier this year, Sollecito published a book titled "Honor Bound, My Journey to Hell and Back With Amanda Knox" and the two reunited briefly in Knox's hometown of Seattle during Sollecito's book tour. Knox's publisher, HarperCollins, said Amanda's memoir would be released on the 30th of April 2013, two months later than originally scheduled.
