We love staying at bed and breakfasts – do you? We think B&Bs make for a great accommodation option; usually small and family-owned, they offer a cozy experience, one where you have the chance to interact with your hosts and perhaps learn a bit about local culture and traditions. Generally speaking, a stay at a B&B tends to be a less impersonal experience than a stay at a hotel.
So if you’ve never stayed at a B&B, or you have and loved it, here’s your chance to snatch a deal for the weekend of 9-10 March - and say hello to spring in Italy.
‘B&B Day’ is returning to Italy for its 13th edition and if you book at least two nights at one of the participating B&Bs, you get one night free, basically a 50% discount.
Here’s how it works:
- Search among B&Bs throughout Italy that participate in this initiative by logging onto www.BBDay.it. You can search by region, city, landmark, or by theme: beach, countryside, mountain, ski, lakes, spa, pet-friendly, etc.
- Once you’ve found the B&B of your choice, book the night of Saturday, 9 March and at least one other night, so either the Friday or the Sunday night, or even more nights if you wish. This is how you get the nights of the 9th for free – the cost is automatically reduced when you send your request.
- Wait for your confirmation, and you’re good to go!
Usually, the event takes place on the first weekend of March; the 2019 edition has been postponed to the second weekend of March so as not to overlap with Carnival celebrations, when rooms in many places are likely to be at full capacity.
Also, consider that the weekend of March 9-10 offers many opportunities to visit extraordinary art exhibitions, such as a retrospective on Escher at the Pan in Naples, Van Dyck’s masterpieces or an interactive experience dedicated to Monet in Turin, the Dali exhibition in the unique setting of the Sassi di Matera, the European Capital of Culture for 2019.
