Benedetta Ciaccia (ANSA) - The body of a 30-year-old Italian woman who has been missing since the July 7 terrorist bomb attacks in London has been identified, the Foreign Ministry announced here on Sunday.

The ministry said the body of Benedetta Ciaccia was found in the tunnel between the Liverpool Street and Aldgate metro stations.

The Italian embassy and consulate in London have already begun procedures for the return of her body, expected to take place next week, the ministry added. The woman had been a resident in Norwich for the past ten years and commuted to London for work, the ministry added.

Her boyfriend, a British Muslim of Pakistani origin, said she had taken a train from Norwich at 6.25am which was set to arrive at the Liverpool Street station at 08.23. From there she would have taken the Circle Line metro to the Strand, where she worked. The first of the three bombs which hit the London metro system on July 7 exploded at 08.50am on a train travelling underground between Liverpool Street and Aldgate.
