Brangelina: grandad gets to babysit

A visit from the grandparents is often an opportunity for Mum and Dad to escape for a while though most of us are more likely to take a jaunt to our local Tesco than the south of France.

But then, most of us are not Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt so we have not had the chance to tire of a canal-side palazzo in Venice. The couple are renting the Palazzo Mocenigo while Jolie makes the spy film, The Tourist. Pitt, on a recent trip home, pronounced it “very nice”.

Brangelina left their two-year-old twins, Knox and Vivienne, with grandad William Pitt and grandmother Jane at the weekend while they travelled with their four older children. William and Knox looked quite content with the situation when snapped on the balcony of the Palazzo Mocenigo by the world’s paparazzi on Sunday.

Maternal grandad Jon Voight flew in back in February and enjoyed a reconciliation with his daughter, with whom he had not spoken for some years, and declared himself delighted to see her with her children.

However, the matter which is exercising the Italian media at the moment is not Angelina’s relationship with her father, her in-laws or her partner, despite recent rumours of an impending break-up. Following the release of a paparazzo photo showing some unusual marks around 35-year-old Angelina’s ears, the burning question is: has la Jolie gone in for some unnecessary “lifting” recently?

Do you think Jolie has had a facelift?

Would you have one?

Do grandparents make good babysitters?
