Italian skaters Anna Cappellini and Luca Lanotte won the gold medal at the 2014 ISU European Figure Skating Championships in Budapest.
Dancing with music from the “Barber of Seville” they collected level fours for the lifts, spin and twizzles and a level three for the two step sequences scoring 102.03 points, a new personal best in the Free Dance, and totaled 171.61 points to win the European title.
The Milanese skate dancers were bronze medalists in 2013. It was the first gold medal for Italian Ice Dance since 2001 when Barbara Fusar Poli and Maurizio Margaglio became European Champions.
