Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana (CFMI) ended 2007 with sales over 33.5 million euro, slightly above their 2006 sales of 33.4 million.
CFMI's balance sheet was presented last week in Florence by president Alfredo Canessa with Pitti Immagine president, Gaetano Marzotto, and general manager Raffaello Napoleone.
A positive sign was also seen in the number of visitors of the showrooms, that in 2007 were almost 119,000: a result that confirmed the growth trend begun in 2006.
Regarding CFMI's activities abroad, they reinforced their strategic role as support for small and mid-sized businesses all over Italy. Shows organized in Moscow and New York were particularly successful.
CFMI, created in 1954, promotes and carries out commercial initiatives and promotions at the international level in support of the Italian fashion system.
CFMI furnishes the general guidelines of trade show and promotional policies at Pitti Immagine (of which it controls 85%) and at Ente Moda Italia (of which it controls 50%), company that operates in the foreign trade show sector.
Sistema Moda Italia - the association that represents the clothing, knitting, textile and footwear industry in Confindustria - is the other shareholder.
Carlo Longo, president of the Prato Chamber of Commerce, also participated in the meeting, where the members deliberated joining the new Confcommercio Firenze.
