George Clooney is to testify as a civil plaintiff in a fraud and forgery trial in Italy, reports ANSA.
The case concerns three unnamed people who, in 2008, allegedly used the actor’s name without permission for a fashion label. The three were allegedly planning a show featuring the label at a Milan hotel. They are also accused of possession of stolen goods.
Judge Pietro Caccialanza has already ordered extra security for the trial, which will take place in Milan on July 16th, but has also promised Clooney’s fans “a chance to get close to their hero”. He did not say how this would be managed.
