West Ham's former Italy striker Davide Di Michele was arraigned Monday on charges of illegal betting.
Di Michele, AC Milan's Czech international Marek Jankulovski and two other former Udinese players will appear in the dock on October 2.
Two other ex-Udinese players asked for a plea bargain, as another ten players have already done.
The players are accused of waging illegal bets amounting to millions of euros.
They allegedly made their bets via an intermediary at a news stand in the centre of this northern city to get around a ban on players gambling on games.
Di Michele, who earned six Italy caps between 2005 and 2006, is on loan to West Ham from Torino.
