Fiat signs brand accord in IndiaTurin car giant Fiat is revising its branding strategy on the Indian market, signing partnership agreements with India's Maxus, part of local media group M Group, and Bates David Enterprise.

Under the agreements, Fiat will hand over its media buying duties to Maxus and its creative duties to Bates David Enterprise.

The new promotional partnerships ''are the logical consequence of Fiat's new image in the country and of the commitment to further consolidate the brand's importance in the local car sector,'' said Rajeev Kapoor, chief executive of Fiat India.

In March 2008 Fiat will launch on the Indian market its Palio Stile model with a 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine.

Later on it will launch the Fiat 500, Bravo and Grande Punto models.

The Italian car maker also plans to strengthen its dealer network from the current 65 dealers to 100 by September 2008.
