(ANSA) - Milan, July 14 - The first Italian fashion mall, Glam Mall, will be opened in the community of Santhia, Milan, northern Italy, by the end of 2005, it was reported on July 13, 2005.
Glam Mall will represent a luxury commercial centre, offering the latest collections of well-known and emerging brands, Massimo Sandretto Locanin, entrepreneur from Turin, said. Some 40 mln euro ($48.3 mln) have been invested in the mall, which plans to employ about 200 people. The centre is expected to attract consumers from the provinces of Turin, Vercelli, Biella, Novara, Alessandria, Asti, Aosta, Pavia, Milan and Varese.
The gross domestic product (GDP) of the listed provinces is 0.9 pct higher than the average for the country, sociologist Enrico Finzi said. The number of consumers of luxury goods and services in those provinces and potential customers of Glam Mall is about 2.4 million people, Finzi added.
